Independent Bankers Association of Texas
From Association Social Media Wiki
The Independent Bankers Association of Texas offers access to members, and to the public, thru our website www.ibat.org, as well as thru Twitter, LinkedIn and a blog written by our CEO, The Missing Linc.
The IBAT website has several features incorporating social media technology. The core professional networking application is MemberFuse, from NFi Studios. MemberFuse gives the IBAT site many member networking features, including member matching, direct messaging, group creation and discussions, and custom wikis. It also allows for resource document uploads and sharing by members. Member access to all features of MemberFuse are controlled thru association staff admin tools.
The site also offers a full RSS news reader to members, where they can choose from a pre-defined list of industry news sources, set up by association staff, and also plug in their own personal RSS news preferences.
The site features a Content Alert system available to all users based on their selection of an industry role that is chosen from a pre-defined list created by association staff. Content control on the site is managed by association staff thru keywords/tags applied to every piece of content that goes up on the site.
News from the site's main homepage is also pushed out to other news reader sites via IBAT RSS feeds.
The MemberFuse networking feature and the Content Alert feature have an email notification process that allows users to set notices to be delivered as frequently or infrequently as they desire.
IBAT's CEO, Chris Williston, also maintains a weekly blog on current events in the industry thru his Missing Linc blog site.
Members and public can also follow IBAT activities thru the association's twitter account, and thru our LinkedIn group.
