Fabricators and Manufacturers Association International [1]
We’re About the Future of Manufacturing
For almost 40 years, the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association International has been championing the success of the metal processing, forming and fabricating industry from its home base in Rockford, Ill.
FMA's objective is to help fabricators and manufacturers achieve success within their companies. For example:
- FMA offers member companies programs that will save them money. A good example is the cooperative buying program (through Prime Advantage). With a money back guarantee, your one-time $1,000 sign-up fee can net you tens of thousands in savings, year after year, on things like steel, packing and shipping supplies, lubricants, MRO supplies, office supplies, computers, and more. When raw materials cost less, you make more with every sale.
- FMA provides high quality, deep content training delivered in whatever method fits your company best. Whether public seminars, custom on-site programs, or on-demand web-based training makes the most sense, you can choose. FMA's goal is to help fabricators and manufacturers hire and maintain the highest quality skilled workforce possible. The FMA even offers certification so employers can validate the skills their workers achieve through training.
- FMA helps manufacturers stay ahead of trends and make good business decisions. FMA's magazines [2] – The Fabricator, TPJ-The Tube & Pipe Journal, Stamping Journal, and Practical Welding Today – deliver the most in-depth technical content in the metal fabricating industry. And special publications, like Fabrinomics, an economic analysis e-newsletter for business decision-makers and Chief Concerns, the quarterly for company owners and managers, provide not just facts, but insights into how to use the facts to make the right choices for your company. All of these publications focus on the unique needs of businesses competing in the metal forming and fabricating marketplace.
There are also networking opportunities, research services, a job board, other cost saving programs, and a chance for people to enhance their leadership role in the industry through volunteer service. Whether you’re in your 20’s and just starting your career, or you’re an established industry professional, participation with FMA or TPA can help you, your company and all of your company’s employees shine. FMA is also one of the co-sponsors of the metal forming and fabricating industry's North American trade show, the FABTECH International & AWS Welding Show [4]. Held each year in October or November, this venue brings together more than a thousand exhibiting companies and 20,000 - 30,000 attendees under one roof to experience the lastest technologies and practices available.
